39 weeks, 4 days
So, it’s just 3 days until our precious LP is due to arrive! I can’t believe it! On the one hand, it seems like just yesterday that I was surprising Vikas with the news that we were expecting. But, on the other, these past 4 weeks or so seem like they have gone in slow motion! And, I’ve been ridiculously busy at work! I can’t even imagine how much these last weeks would have dragged on if I wasn’t keeping myself quite as busy. Well, in any event, we’re definitely getting down to the wire and feeling all of the emotions that come with that. You name it, we’re feeling it! We’re incredibly excited and anxious to meet LP, but we (especially me) are also pretty nervous about the whole thing too. I fully admit that I’m a control freak, and not having control over the whole labor thing is not my ideal situation . . .lol. But, I’m hopeful that all will go smoothly and that LP will be here in no time! And, hopefully, Vikas and I won’t have too much trouble making the transition to parenthood J I know LP is going to be the best thing that ever happened to us! I just hope we are the best parents that we can be and that we don’t let him down.
So, when’s he coming?! That’s the million dollar question! As of last week, at our 38.5 week appointment, LP was definitely making some progress. I was 80% effaced and 2cm dilated. Unfortunately though, those stats weren’t any clear indication of whether LP would be coming the next day or in two weeks L But, we do have an appointment tonight, so we’ll see if there’s been any more progress. If not, we’ll likely have another appointment in a week, and then we’ll be induced on July 22nd if our little man hasn’t made his appearance. So, that means that LP will be here in less than two weeks, no matter what! Super exciting stuff!
That’s my update for now. Here are a few belly pics from the past two weeks. As you can see, our peanut is growing nice and big!
