THE NEWS IS OUT!!!!
15 weeks, 4 days
Since I should be showing any day now, I decided that it was time to tell all of my coworkers about my pregnancy. So, this past Friday, I brought in four dozen special cupcakes (amazing buttercream frosting with a mixed pink and blue sprinkle border that I had ordered from my absolute favorite cupcake bakery, Just Baked), put them in the kitchen with a cute sign next to them that said "sweet treats courtesy of Baby Patel!", and sent an email to the office letting them know that there were cupcakes in the kitchen. Well, as I expected, people were out of their offices and in the kitchen for a yummy mid-afternoon snack (and a surprise) in no time! Cupcakes were the perfect way to tell my coworkers about LP! Everyone was wonderful and genuinely excited for us. Honestly, even though work can be rough sometimes, the level of support that we all have for each other is amazing, and I feel pretty lucky to be a part of such a caring and sincere firm.
After I broke the news to my office on Friday, I just had one last group of friends that I needed to tell. I was so excited and anxious to tell them all! We had all seen each other at least 4 or 5 times since I've known that I am pregnant, but it was just too early to say anything. So, I had been waiting and waiting for a good time to tell them in person, and last night was it! We got together for our monthly "Girls' Dinner" and I finally got to tell them about LP! As I expected, all of the girls were incredibly happy for us. I'm a lucky lady to have such a wonderful group of girlfriends, and I know that I'll be leaning on them more than ever as I go through pregnancy and journey into motherhood. I'm sure that in addition to my mom and sisters, I'll be annoying the moms in my group of friends with a million questions. So, Ladies: be prepared! I'm a lawyer--we ask questions and analyze the reasons for everything!!! Lol!
Yaaaaaay! The news is finally OUT! What an incredible feeling to be able to share our news and our journey into parenthood with everyone that we care about! Plus, since LP is no longer a surprise for anyone, I don't have to hide my quickly expanding waistline (well, at least that's how it feels to me!). I promise that I'll post some belly pics soon, but I'm waiting until I really "pop" so that you all can have a good laugh at how quickly pregnancy changes your body. Since we're officially past the 15 week mark and the halfway point will surely sneak up on us, we're on to our next task: planning the BABYMOON! We're still researching and deciding between a domestic or international destination, but we're definitely going somewhere (even if it's only a little mini-weekend) for some rest and relaxation before LP makes his or her appearance!
Until next time . . .
